The Association maintains a small fund from which it makes grants in support of research projects related specifically to Devon. The fund is limited; preference is therefore given to applications of a pump-priming nature. Support will not normally be given for full-time undergraduate or postgraduate research. Applications should he sent to the Honorary Secretary at The West Wing, The Bishop's Palace, Palace Gate, Exeter EX1 1HX. They will he considered at the meetings of the Executive Committee, which are normally held every other month, and should be received at least three weeks before the meeting. Applications must include the following information:

• The nature, timing and duration of the project
• A breakdown of the expected cost, showing those items proposed to be funded by the Association
• If a project is to be the work of a single individual, then that person must be suitably qualified to undertake the work, or arrange to have the guidance of someone so qualified. Projects that are to be the work of a group must provide for suitably qualified supervision
• The arrangements proposed for making the results of the project accessible; e.g. by publication or by placing in an accessible library or archive

The Association requires an annual progress report of not more than 100 words (double spacing) to be submitted to the Honorary Editor by 1 May following the commencement of the grant and on the same date in subsequent years until the project has been finalised by publication or deposit; the progress report will he published in the Transactions of the Association. In addition, the Association requires the submission of the final report for publication in the Transactions

The Association wishes the benefit of this Fund to cover the whole spectrum of its interests; applications are therefore welcomed for any suitable project in the fields of Science, Literature or the Arts
